Greetings and Blessings to the OCYM Unit of Dubai St.Thomas Orthodox Cathedral,
Dearly Beloved,

It gives us great joy to learn that the Orthodox Christian Youth Movement of St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Dubai, has revamped its official website. This digital platform is a commendable step towards strengthening fellowship, faith formation, and creative engagement among our youth.

The young generation is the living witness of Christ in a fast-changing world. True Christian leadership is born when faith is lived with conviction, compassion, and courage. As St. Paul exhorts, “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12). We urge every member of the OCYM to be rooted in prayer, Scripture, and the sacramental life of the Church, while using your talents and technology to spread the light of Christ and to serve humanity.

May this website become a window of faith, hope, and inspiration - connecting hearts, nurturing vision, and leading all toward a deeper commitment to Christ and His Church.

May God bless all your endeavors abundantly.

Beloved Children in Christ,
May the peace and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with each one of you.

As we continue our earthly pilgrimage, we witness moments of great joy as well as seasons of deep challenge. In such times, it is natural for the human heart to seek answers and long for comfort. Yet, it is precisely in these moments that the Christian faith calls us to look beyond what is seen and to trust in the divine wisdom of God, who lovingly guides His people through every circumstance.

Throughout the Holy Scriptures, we find profound examples of how God works through trials to reveal His purpose. Consider the life of Prophet Elijah. Though he stood as a great witness for truth, he also faced fear, loneliness, and despair. Yet, it was in the silence of the gentle whisper that God renewed Elijah’s strength, reminding him that the Lord is ever present, even when circumstances appear overwhelming.

The journey of Nehemiah likewise teaches us that faith combined with perseverance can rebuild what is broken. Despite opposition, uncertainty, and fatigue, he held firmly to his calling. His steadfastness shows us that when we commit our plans to God, He strengthens our hands to accomplish His will, turning obstacles into opportunities.

In the New Testament, the experiences of the early Church testify powerfully to God’s unfailing guidance. The Apostles endured persecution and hardship, yet their hearts burned with courage because they trusted in the promise of the Holy Spirit. Their trials became the soil in which the Church’s mission took root and flourished. Their example encourages us to remain resilient, steadfast, and faithful in our own lives.

Above all, our Lord Jesus Christ demonstrates that suffering, when surrendered to God, becomes a path to transformation. Through His Passion, Cross, and Resurrection, Christ teaches us that no adversity is final and no darkness is permanent. His victory assures us that God’s love surrounds us even when we do not fully understand His plans.

As members of the Delhi Diocese, let us stand together in prayer, unity, and Christian love. Let us uphold the mission of our Church with sincerity and dedication, offering our time, talents, and compassion for the glory of God. In our families, workplaces, and communities, may we reflect Christ’s light through patience, humility, and service.

Remember that every challenge becomes meaningful when entrusted to God, for He turns trials into testimonies and burdens into blessings. Let us therefore walk with hope, strengthened by faith and guided by His divine grace.

May our Lord bless you abundantly, protect your families, and fill your hearts with peace.
Blessings and Prayers,
H.G. Dr. Yuhanon Mar Demetrios

GLORY BE TO THE TRIUNE GOD

Dearly Beloved, Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our life in Christ is a precious gift, and God calls us to live in faith. Life often takes unexpected turns, and despite our best efforts, we face disappointment and hardship.

The story of Job provides profound lessons. Though described as blameless and upright, fearing God and shunning evil, Job endured tremendous loss. He lost everything one after another—his wealth, health, and family. People laughed at him for his faith in God. Yet Job's deep trust in God never wavered. At the peak of his sufferings, he declared, “For I know that my Redeemer lives” (Job 19:25).

The life of Joseph from the Old Testament similarly demonstrates God’s unseen plans in the face of hardship. From seventeen to thirty years of his life, Joseph endured betrayal by his brothers, slavery, and years of imprisonment. From the outside, it seemed his life was a total failure. But God had a larger purpose—to raise Joseph to a position of leadership and save many lives during the famine.

In the New Testament, we see similar themes. Jesus taught that some suffering has a divine purpose, allowing God’s glory to be revealed through healing or restoration.

May we trust God’s purpose in every hardship and remain steadfast in faith.
GOD Bless us all.

Children of God: A Call of Hope

“But to all who received Him, who believed in His name, He gave power (authority) to become children of God” (John 1:12)

The present age is marked by uncertainty and deep anxiety. While technological advancement has accelerated the pace of life, human relationships are steadily weakening.

The truth that those who receive Jesus Christ become “children of God” is a decisive theological affirmation that our worth and dignity are not determined by the world. Neither success nor failure, social media approval or rejection, professional status, nor economic standing defines our true identity. In Christ, we are constituted as the beloved children of God—this is the very foundation of Christian hope and human dignity.

To live out this truth in today’s world is a serious spiritual challenge. Our identity as children of God carries with it an ethical and missional responsibility. It calls us to raise our voices against injustice, to stand in solidarity with the vulnerable, to accompany those who are discouraged, and to build bridges of love by embracing difference.

May our very lives become a living proclamation of hope.
